Horse Medicine for Healers - Are you riding the travois?

Horse medicine symbolizes your great compassion for - and ability to help - people/humankind on both a physical and spiritual level. Horse is all about power in giving, as they offered themselves to carry people and their burdens. Horse medicine people enable others to travel further than they could ever possibly go on their own.

A lot of healers embody Turkey medicine (~giving to benefit the whole), but while Turkey is a truly beautiful medicine to have, remember that horses are there to carry the burdens. Horse medicine works best when you show people where the horses are, and how to get on them themselves. Otherwise, you’ve put them on your own horse; they’re guiding it, and you’re left riding the bumpy travois (or walking alongside, in which case, you‘re not in a position to help anyone roam freely)! Consider for a moment how likely it is that the person you’ve come to aid has right Horse medicine themselves. If you thought that they needed to be carried in the first place, do you really want them leading you both? Because of your compassion, you may be tempted to carry other people’s burdens/medicines for them, but there are plenty of horses to go around! (And if you`re not convinced by that, take a look at the travois; can you imagine how grumpy you`d get after bumping along on that sucker after a few hours? …and how much good would you be to anyone then?)

To use your gifts/talents most effectively (for the good of all mankind, which includes your own deserving self, by the way!), use your boundless compassionate energy to help people in the best way you can: by using your horse to catch and bring another horse to someone who could use one (i.e. their own). Sacrificing yourself for others helps no one. Carrying medicine for someone else certainly doesn’t help them (I‘ll say it as often as necessary: they need it for themselves). Although their/our personal medicines/struggles seem like a negative thing, they’re the gift that we give ourselves in life to help us become our most evolved self. If you tried to get under a wobbly foal to support it because it was struggling to walk, would it ever learn to run? How much more exciting would it be for you and everyone you love (which is everyone) to be exploring on horses together, riding Fast, riding Far, riding Powerfully?

Righting Contrary Dog Medicine

Because dogs have such infinite love-loyalty for their (owners), they keep going back to them, even if abused...

Dogs are much harder to train when you send them thought pictures about what ‘not’ to do; they don’t see/hear the negative part of the command as much as the rest. To them (and sometimes to us), disapproval is better than no attention at all. If (because of their own skewed beliefs about themselves) all a birth-parent has for us is disapproval, we’ll keep doing things to ourselves that will allow us to keep fetching disapproval for them. Just like dogs, we’re returning to them what we think they want. In a sense, we’re winning their approval by continuously fetching and being rewarded by their ongoing disapproval.

Dog has loyalty that has them taking on others’ illnesses. Energetically taking on dis-ease for the pack leader(s) ensures that the entire pack can survive better. Unfortunately, the practice only works as intended if the alpha is True/right Alpha. Goose exhibits a form of loyalty too, but it’s more the loyalty/valour of standing guard while someone heals themselves (or doesn‘t, as is their Free Will) - geese stay with each other if injured until healed or dead. Either way, Goose will eventually rejoin the flock to add his/her draughting abilities to uplift others and honk out encouragement. Remember, though, that a goose will protect that which is worth protecting (they make great watchdogs, by the way).

Aside from the associated energetic and emotional considerations, it doesn’t make evolutionary sense to continue ‘fetching’ for anyone who‘s not carrying right Jaguar medicine (i.e. using their power ethically). Stop carrying their medicine for them (remember, they need it for themselves); be your own alpha! Let them chew on the last stick you gave them so that they can see it for what it is. You know what a slobbery, chewed-up stick looks like; let them decide if it’s what they really want for themselves!

The problem with fetching, too, is that it’s a two-being, domesticated relationship. I can imagine that you have some appreciation for how much more efficient it is to hunt in a pack (and by hunting, I mean `going after a common goal`). Need I say more?

Do you want to fetch sticks, or do you want Rabbit (if you`re a vegetarian, substitutions can be made here)? Until you‘re ready to re-remember what a rabbit actually looks like (and don‘t worry, their criss-cross scent trails are everywhere - your nose will come across one eventually), picture throwing some sticks that have things written on them that you might actually want for yourself! It's the best way to care for the rest of your pack.

Peacock on Manifestation

Balance is essential to manifestation, but do you think Peacock consciously considers/worries whether his male and female aspects are balanced? Does he look at himself and say, “I’m the ’showy’ one. As conventional wisdom would have it, I must be the male - it’s good for attracting a mate, and to lure predators away from the creation we hatch together. But, hmmm…. looking at myself, my colours, my shimmer, this ‘tiara’ on my head… I’m awfully ‘pretty‘. Am I confused?” Peacock looks around for clarity; his eyes go down to his feet stirring up the dusty ground. They’re so ugly that they’re funny to him, and He lets out his screechy laugh. And now that his attention is on his connection to the Earth-ground, he sees he’s been doing too much thinking, and not enough ‘feeling/experiencing/BE-ing’.

Peacock sends out his raucous call to encourage pro/creation, just as Great Spirit continuously calls us to co-create. He projects his desire through the ether, and by His desire, a space - a vacuum / a void - is created. His etheric desire holds medicine-space for the physical womb of creation.

Peacock flashes the brilliance of the gifts that he himself was created to embody. He dances the dance of courtship, an exhaltation of the coming together of the etheric properties of Father Sky with the grounded physicality of Mother Earth. Here there is a message to celebrate the attributes gifted to us by Great Spirit. Who are we to say that we should shy away from displaying them, that these gifts should be hidden? Who are we to say that we’re unworthy of carrying them, or - worse yet, perhaps - that the gifts themselves are not good enough? Display your natural talents as being from/of Great Spirit. Bring your inspirations into physical experience for all to enjoy by practicing ‘show-being-ship’!

Peacock doesn’t have a picture in his mind about what’s going to happen. He doesn‘t need to see his intended creation in full form for it to come into existence. He needs only to put his desire out into the world, and then just naturally BE as he IS. He’s in the moment, his excitement building, his heart pumping. There are communications taking place far beyond what Peacock (or any other observer, for that matter) can see physically. Once the call has been put out, Creation is on automatic.

In the same way, we put out our own call, and our hearts start transmitting, simultaneously/instantaneously recognizing and interacting with the energy flowing in and from nature (/the physical world). The Joy of creation is pumping outside our bodies in sync with the blood/life-force that’s pumping inside our bodies. Responding to our innate urge to create, our hearts are pro/creating (with) the physical world around us.

After the pro/creation process, Peacock loses his tail. There’s always death with creation - there’s always death with pro-creation. When we exercise our muscles, we - in fact - damage them. They recognize that they’re damaged, and send the signal for energy to flow to them to build them up - they build up even stronger than they were originally to prepare us for our next experiences. It’s only by exercising our hearts that they get Bigger. It’s through exercising our creative-heart abilities that we exercise our manifesting abilities. Peacock grows a new tail afterwards, more magnificent than the last. We need a rest after creating this way (and any time we create) so that - like ‘stressed’/damaged muscles, we, too, can build back up stronger, faster, Bigger. Our bodies follow Earth’s natural rhythms. Once we set our hearts on pumping out our desires, we needn’t occupy our minds with stresses about ‘how’ and ‘when’; let them go like Peacock loses his tail.

Peacock’s eyes point towards the back of its head. It suggests that you look to the dreams and desires that you may have put to the back of your mind, and then - in whatever screechy voice you can muster - put your desire for creation out into the world. Do your dance. Show off your Divinely gifted attributes. Have fun doing it. And then either stop thinking, or observe and destroy that which would keep you from your Divine creation-mission. Peacock kills snakes. Don‘t allow Snake (in this case, your limited beliefs about how earth-bound/limited you are) to tempt you from your Divine path. Stop thinking and let your presence emmanate; let your heart do what it does.

Peacock’s eyes don’t only point to the back of its small head, they point forward… let your eyes look to what’s in front of you, to what your call for manifestation lays in front of you on your Path. The Universe will present a sign that your creation is unfolding. Watch for signs of the manifestation of Your own creations. This is a call to BE true to your nature. By your very nature, you are a creative BEing. When you see Peacock without a tail, you also have in your mind’s eye - in your reality - an image of the resplendent tail to come, in full colour. Allow yourself to BE your Divine self - allow yourself to BE Peacock in all your glory!

Armadillo Medicine

Armadillo's medicine is built-in, and so is ours. Hers is in the form of protective plating, and ours is Love. Yes, that's what I said, Love...

Armadillo on Love... A couple of people have expressed concerns to me lately that they've been victims of psychic attacks. Since channeling The Chief, it's my understanding that it's not that the other person 'invades' us in any way, but that we willingly take on other people's pain, grief, anxiety, etc, in a loving (but perverted) attempt to help carry their load for them. I say 'perverted' because, as beings built on Love, we've been misguided to believe that carrying another's pain is a loving act. We create energetic conduits to others when we allow ourselves to feel lower-frequency emotions on their behalf like pity and anger; creating these conduits allows us to carry their pain in what we assume is a charitable act (incidentally, we do this both for people we Love as well as for people we supposedly hate - I'll write more about that later). Don't hold other people's pain for them - difficult to understand, perhaps, but they need it themselves for personal transformation. Love them (and yourself) enough to let them have their own medicine. Let your built-in Armadillo medicine work the way it's designed to. Be compassionate, sure; do whatever you're invited to do as far as helping people to heal themselves, but otherwise, let their medicine bounce off your 'Love-shield'.

'Overusing' her medicine / Armadillo on abundance... Do you think Armadillo walks around fussing and fretting about what's going to attack her, or does she spend her day foraging around for yummy snacks? I vote 'yummy snacks'. I've learned that, when you spend life curled up in a ball, you don't get to appreciate life's treats (it's hard to see them when you're curled into such a ball that all you can see is your own butt). You don't actually even feel very safe either, because you spend all your time worried about why yummy snacks aren't crossing your palate. By the way, the words 'yummy snacks' can be substituted for anything else you desire, be it Love, friendship, material abundance, or whatever else you'd like to fill in the blank with.

Don't think for a second that utilizing Armadillo medicine makes you an unfeeling little military tank. She has a highly sensitive nose. She has a soft underbelly. Just as Armadillo's armour is ridged like a radiator (or a radio coil), it's there to both protect you and to allow you to radiate (and transmit)... radiate Love. And while I realize that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, tell me they're not adorable! And I haven't even mentioned my favourite Armadillo attributes yet... they're well equipped for digging (read: getting under the surface of things) and they can cross streams by walking across the bottom... medicine for setting healthy, loving boundaries and the ability to handle diverse environments!
